Baby RB Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome

A separated father whose son was born with an uncommon neuromuscular circumstance will go to the High Court today, November 2, 2009 and try to stop the hospital withdrawing a support that keeps his child alive.

The hospital doctors’ treating the one-year-old child says that the quality of life the little boy has been too poor that would not be in his best welfare to keep him breathing. According to them, they’ve been supported in their action by the baby’s mother. Sad to say, the couple is separated.

The child was called Baby RB for a legal reason. He was born with a Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome whose muscle condition severely limits movement and his ability to breathe independently and Baby RB has been in the hospital for his entire life since birth.

According to report, if hospital doctors thrive in their application, this will be the first time that British court will moved out against the wish of a parent and lined that life support can be withdrawn from a child who does never have a brain damage.
